Michigan Basketball moved to 1-0 on the young season in their season opener on Friday night against Howard by a score of 76-58.

Derrick Walton Jr. led the way for the Wolverines with 20 points, 14 of which came in the first half of the contest.

Howard was within five points in the second half, but Michigan was having none of it. They pulled away late in the game for an eventual 18-point victory.

Michigan started out a bit slow, trailing 9-6 in the early going, but went on a 7-0 run after that and never looked back in this contest.
