Michigan wins 2K Classic with blowout of SMU

The Wolverines move to 4-0 in impressive fashion.

Michigan Basketball moved to 4-0 on the young season on Friday night in a 76-54 victory over SMU and a win in the 2K Classic Tournament at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Derrick Walton Jr. led the Wolverines with 23 points and a career-high seven makes from beyond the arc, which was over half of the 13-made 3-point shots the team hit on the night.

Zak Irvin (named the tournament MVP) and Muhammad Ali Abdur-Rahkman chipped in with 16 and 12 points, respectively.

The Wolverines rolled in impressive fashion for the second night in a row and led by as much as 29 points late in this contest after an impressive win against Marquette on Thursday night.

Michigan returns to game action on Wednesday when they travel for their first true road game of the year against South Carolina at 5 p.m. on ESPNU.
