The Michigan Wolverines and head coach John Beilein have extended an offer to Brandon Johns, a 2018 four-star power forward from The Hill Academy in East Lansing, Michigan.
According to 247Sports, Johns is the top-ranked player in the state of Michigan for his class, the 25th rated power forward and the 76th overall player in the country.
Along with an offer from Michigan, the 6-foot-7, 210-pound forward has offers from Alabama and Iowa. However, it seems as if Johns has a ton of interest in Michigan State. He has visited the Spartans in East Lansing twice (October 23 and November 4) and has been visited by Michigan State coach Tom Izzo. While Johns is obviously waiting on an offer from Michigan State, the Maize and Blue will look to make their mark early in his recruitment process.
"Well, first, they are home, so close by for one," he said of Michigan in a recent interview at USA Basketball training camp. "The program is great and routinely one of the best teams in the Big 10 so they would be a strong option for me."
Johns is averaging eight points and four rebounds per game for Spiece Indy Heat on the Nike EYBL circuit at the 17U level this summer.
