While the NCAA tournament in the rearview mirror for Michigan, Derrick Walton Jr. was not over in a Maize and Blue uniform. He competed in the State Farm Three-Point Championship in Phoenix at Grand Canyon University as part of the Final Four events on Thursday, where he finished third.
Walton scored 18 points in the first round to secure a spot in the semifinals with Iowa’s Peter Jok, Duke’s Matt Jones, and Grand Canyon’s DeWayne Russell. He went on to score 15 points in the semifinals to finish behind Peter Jok from Iowa, who ended up winning the event in the end.
Wakton’s sported his blue jersey and Jordan's, but had more style with some special socks. Here’s a picture Evan with MnB posted with Waton sharing after the event.
