We are just hours away from the NCAA Tournament Selection show on TBS at 6 p.m. ET and there seems to be a near-consensus on what Michigan’s spot in the brackets will look like when the field of 68 is announced.
A quick look at Bracket Matrix shows Michigan almost universally projected as a No. 3 seed in the tournament. There are a fair amount of 4’s shown and one projection as low as a five, but their fate in that regard seems sealed.
ESPN, CBS and NBC Sports has Michigan playing in Dallas on the opening weekend, but no clear indication of the opponent. Wright State, UMBC and Stephen F. Austin are all contenders to be on the 14-seed line.
The selection show this year is going to be different with them revealed the field of teams before they announce regions and matchups, so being locked in to your television may not be the most entertaining course of acton. Keep an eye on social media for brackets to leak and news to break for the quickest fix.
We will have coverage of Michigan’s spot and the tournament at large when things become official later on Sunday afternoon.
