A win today puts Michigan within five of going a full calendar year without a regular season loss. It’s hard to imagine that’s not at least in the back of the minds of Michigan’s players. Wisconsin is always one of the top teams in the Big Ten and despite a recent run of struggles, still provide quite the challenge.
Ethan Happ is not only one of the best players in the conference, but the entire country. The do-it-all forward leads the Badgers in points, rebounds and assists. He ranks third in steals and second in blocks per game.
Wisconsin has two other players averaging double figures in D’Mitrik Trice and America’s villain, Brad Davison. Both shoot over 44 percent from three and Davison is a total menace on defense, excelling at both drawing charges and creating turnovers the old fashioned way with over a steal per contest.
Wisconsin has lost consecutive games and four of its last five. After falling to Purdue in overtime and coming up just short on the road against No. 19 Maryland, the Badgers are desperate for a victory to get back on track in a competitive Big Ten conference. A win against undefeated Michigan could turn their entire season around. Another loss puts them firmly in free-fall territory.
