Ladies and gentlemen, it is finally here. We have been waiting all (rivalry) week for this day to come.
There aren’t many things better than a matchup on the hardwood between Michigan and Michigan State. It’s one of the best rivalries in college basketball, and this game so happens to have a lot at stake. The winner locks itself in at No. 1 in the Big Ten regular season standings, while the loser dips to No. 3.
I could get statistical and analytical with you and tell you how good a player Cassius Winston is and how pesky Matt McQuaid is from 3, but I feel like that wouldn’t matter. It’s a rivalry game. Throw all the stats out the window. You never know what you are going to get with a game like this.
On paper, the Wolverines have the clear advantage. MSU big man Nick Ward is out indefinitely with a left hand fracture and guard Joshua Langford has been out most of the season with a left foot injury. Oh, and the game today is being played at Crisler, a place U-M has not lost at this season.
This is going to be a fun one. Buckle in, folks.
