Well hello, old friend.
The No. 2 seeded Michigan Wolverines (29-6) will take on the No. 10 seed Florida Gators (20-15) on Saturday in Des Moines, Iowa from the Wells Fargo Center after both squads walked out of the Round of 64 in the NCAA Tournament with victories under their belts.
After the conclusion of Thursday night’s games, the tip times were set for the Round of 32 matchups on Saturday, where the Wolverines and Gators are now set for a 5:15 p.m. ET tipoff that will be televised via CBS. The broadcast team will be made up of Kevin Harlan, Dan Bonner, Reggie Miller and sideline reporter Dana Jacobson.
The two schools have met on the gridiron frequently the last few seasons, but this will be the first matchup in basketball since 2013’s Elite Eight, which was a 79-59 blowout victory for Michigan in the season they advanced all the way to the National Championship game against Louisville.
Michigan’s first round win came in the form of a 74-55 win over the No. 15 seed Montana Grizzles on Thursday, while the Gators pulled off one of the upsets of the opening round in beating the No. 7 seed Nevada Wolfpack by a score of 70-61.
