Tom Izzo says Michigan-MSU on Saturday is biggest game in Breslin Center’s history

A lot is on the line

Michigan State basketball coach Tom Izzo set the template for the Spartans tilt against the Michigan Wolverines on Saturday, which will be played in East Lansing at the Breslin Center.

Izzo thinks the matchup is the biggest game ever to be played at Breslin, which opened in 1989.

“A lot of big games here, a lot of games that I’ve enjoyed, but if you looked at all those things, the rivalry, both in the top 10, playing for a championship with seeding implications for the Big Ten tournament and the NCAA Tournament, the national television, all the things, I’d say yeah, yeah it is,” Izzo said.

Izzo would know, as he has coached at MSU since the early 80’s.

There is a whole heck of a lot on the line, MSU is ranked No. 9, Michigan is ranked No. 7, the winners gets at least a share of the Big Ten regular season championship, and so on.

One thing is for sure, it’s going to be an insanely loud at the Breslin Center on Saturday.
