A week ago, top 2019 Michigan basketball recruit Jalen Wilson announced he would be reopening his recruitment “due to the sudden head coaching change”.
A week later Michigan has found their man to replace John Beilein, Michigan alum and Miami Heat assistant coach Juwan Howard.
Shortly after the news broke that Howard will be inking a five-year deal at U-M, Wilson sent out a cryptic tweet that would appear to be about the hire.

The 6-8 forward from Texas was an important part of his recruiting class, and a key piece of the future of Michigan hoops, so getting him to re-commit would be huge for the program. Wilson is the No. 50 recruit in his class.
One thing Michigan has on their side if the fact the Wilson’s mother named him after Jalen Rose, who was Howard’s teammate during the “Fab-Five” era of Michigan basketball in the early 90’s. Based on that tid-bit, it sure seems like Wilson would be willing to meet with Howard and talk about his vision for the program.
