Jordan Poole talks about what he can bring to the Golden State Warriors

Poole is excited, and rightfully so

NBA: NBA Draft Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports

Former Michigan Wolverines guard Jordan Poole was selected by the Golden State Warriors with the 28th pick in the NBA Draft.

Poole is headed to one of the best teams in the NBA, and is excited about the opportunity. Late Thursday night Poole stepped up to the podium and was asked a few questions about being drafted by the Warriors.

Style of play and what he’ll bring to the Warriors:

“Being able to shoot the three is a strength of mine, but also being able to be a 6-5 guard who can play on the ball, off the ball. Being able to make the right decisions, but also knowing how to play the game the right way, the right passes, and make the next right play is something that I feel like I’m able to contribute to the team.”

Impressions of the Warriors and how he can contribute in particular:

“The Warriors are an amazing team and one of their strengths is being able to shoot the three ball. I feel like that’s something that’s changed the game. Being able to shoot the three as a strength of mine, and finding a way to come in and make an impact, and just being able to learn from the guys is definitely something that I’m extremely excited for.”

Criticism leaving Michigan early:

I think it was just being able to trust myself, follow my dreams, having hope and faith. That’s all I’mma really say on that and being able to be in the position I am now I feel like I made the right decision.”

Stepping on the floor with Steph Curry in San Francisco:

“It’ll definitely be amazing, but being able to know at the same time that we’re out there doing the same thing, and they’re definitely probably going to teach me some stuff right away and they’re definitely gonna invite me to the league.”
