Michigan continues its rise up the AP Top 25 poll

Michigan is up three spots this week.

NCAA Basketball: Michigan at Nebraska Steven Branscombe-USA TODAY Sports

The Michigan Wolverines currently sit at 7-0 on the young season and are the Big Ten’s lone-remaining undefeated team. They have only played a single game in the last two weeks, but their 80-69 win over Nebraska was enough to move them up in the AP Poll this week.

The Wolverines rose three spots from No. 19 to No. 16 in this week’s poll after alternating between No. 25 and being unranked in previous iterations. They are one of nine teams to crack the top-25 from the Big Ten conference. Those other schools include Wisconsin (No. 6), Iowa (10), Rutgers (14), Illinois (15), Michigan (16), Michigan State (17), Northwestern (19), Minnesota (21) and Ohio State (25).

Gonzaga, Baylor and Kansas hold onto the top three spots again this week, while Villanova slides up to No. 4 and Houston moves into the top five.
