The college hoops season came to an abrupt halt due to the Covid-19 pandemic. No Big Ten Tournament. No NCAA Tournament. No National Champion. Even with the season ending the way it did, the associated press put together their final AP Top 25 poll of the season.
Michigan didn’t make the cut, but did receive 62 points in the final poll. The 19-12 Wolverines got off to a hot start to the season, beating the likes of North Carolina and Gonzaga to win the Battle of Atlantis. From that point on, however, the team had an up and down year and finished 10-10 in Big Ten play. Still, “what ifs” remain in head coach Juwan Howard’s first year. Maybe the team could have got hot in the Big Ten Tournament, propelling them to an extended run in the NCAA Tournament. We’ll now have to wait until next season to see how a Howard coach team fares in March Madness.
