Michigan Wolverines point guard David DeJulius intends to enter the transfer portal this week, according to a report from The Michigan Insider on 247Sports. The soon-to-be junior point guard has informed Michigan of his plans and has already begun saying his goodbyes, per the writeup from TMI.
This is a pretty stunning development considering that DeJulius was projected to be next in line to start at point guard for the Wolverines with Zavier Simpson moving on after this season.
DeJulius played in 31 games this season for the Wolverines, averaging seven points per game. The Wolverines have been active on the transfer market as it pertains to guards, so this appears to be something they may have been accounting for. With the move, Michigan is currently at the scholarship limit of 13 players while waiting for news on five-star guard Josh Christopher. Another spot would have to be opened to make Christopher fit, as well as any additional attrition to make a potential transfer fit.
