Hunter Dickinson and the Michigan Wolverines put aside any doubt that they were a top contender in the Big Ten. The only criticism I have seen thus far was the lack of strength of schedule at this point. With a thrashing of a Minnesota Gophers team that has victories over Iowa & Ohio State, it’s time to put those criticisms to rest.
Dickinson put together his best performance in a Michigan uniform, putting up 28 points on 12-15 shooting and adding 8 rebounds. He also was a big part in holding Big Ten stand-out big man Liam Robbins to 5 points and 4 rebounds. Robbins wasn’t the only one who struggled offensively against the Wolverines, as Marcus Carr, one of the best point guards in the country, was held to 14 points on 5-16 shooting.
Outside of Dickinson, Isaiah Livers & Franz Wagner had solid games for Michigan, scoring 14 & 12 points, respectively. While there were no offensive standouts beyond that, the defensive effort throughout was excellent and is starting to become part of the Wolverines identity.
