WATCH: Michigan Basketball Highlights vs. Rutgers

Breaking down the Michigan Basketball team’s highlights in the victory over the Scarlet Knights

In a late-night affair, the Michigan Wolverines put away the pesky Scarlet Knights of Rutgers in a 71-64 battle. Franz Wagner led all players on the court with a 20 point performance on an efficient 6-9 shooting, adding in 7 rebounds, as well. With Isaiah Livers having a quiet night with only 7 points after 3 straight 20 point games, Michigan needed someone else to step up and Wagner obliged.

Mike Smith added 12 points and Dickinson was the only other Wolverine to hit double digits with 10 points. The latter part of the second half was littered with fouls called, with a whopping 33 called in this one between both teams. In a season that’s been generally whistle-free, this game was called extremely tight, though it benefited the Wolverines, who shot over 73% from the charity stripe.

This win improves the Wolverines to 15-1 on the season, and sets up a marquee match-up against the #4 Ohio State Buckeyes in Columbus on Sunday. It’s bound to be a great one.
