The Michigan Wolverines (16-1, 11-1 Big Ten) continue to roll as they power through the home stretch of the season. This week’s AP Top 25 poll has the program staying at No. 3 in the country behind Gonzaga and Baylor.
Michigan and Ohio State gave us one of the best regular-season college basketball games you will ever see with a 92-87 victory for the maize and blue. Despite the loss, the Buckeyes stayed at No. 4 in the rankings this week. Illinois rounds out the top five.
Other ranked Big Ten teams this week are Iowa (No. 9) and Wisconsin (No. 23).
Michigan’s win over Ohio State was its best of the season and a defining victory for what Juwan Howard has built. In the short-term, however, it was just the first in a long line of tests upcoming.
The Wolverines host Iowa on Thursday night before heading to Indiana on Saturday. Illinois comes to Crisler Center on March 2 in a long-anticipated matchup between the two teams. Michigan will then close out the year with a pair of games against Michigan State.
Michigan is firmly on the one-seed line heading into March and continues to give itself wiggle room with everyone else behind them. We will see where it goes, but they are in tremendous shape for the stretch run.
