WATCH: Highlights from Michigan’s Big Ten Championship win over MSU

Breaking down the beat down of the Spartans en route to a Big Ten Championship

The Michigan Wolverines got the job done. While the previous game against the Fighting Illini was a bit of a disappointment, it didn’t keep the Wolverines down, who battled through some questionable officiating and pushed to a comfortable victory over their in-state rivals to secure a championship. At 19-2, the Wolverines have claimed the outright Big Ten regular season championship and helped solidify their 1-seed in the NCAA Tournament.

Franz Wagner was able to step up from his 2-point performance on Tuesday and turned out 19 points, hitting some big 3 point shots early in the second half to truly put some distance between the Wolverines and the Spartans. Though Dickinson had 6 turnovers, he was again a solid defensive presence and took advantage of the lack of size Michigan State had to offer on the defensive side of the post.

It’s a bittersweet moment to see guys like Eli Brooks, Isaiah Livers, and Austin Davis likely having their last game at the Crisler Center. The embraces they shared with fellow players and coaches alike, as well as the celebration to cut down the nets can’t help but leave a smile on your face as a Michigan fan, as their legacy will live on in the rafters in the form of a banner.
