Five Michigan Wolverines were among the list of 353 players who have filed as early entry candidates for the 2021 NBA Draft.

Franz Wagner and Hunter Dickinson are the only U of M underclassmen to enter the draft, with seniors Chaundee Brown and Isaiah Livers and grad student Mike Smith joining them as candidates.

Brown, Livers and Smith are either out of eligibility or have opted not to return for the 2021-22 season.

To retain their NCAA eligibility, Wagner and Dickinson must withdraw in writing by Wednesday, July 7.

Other notable Big Ten players who have entered the early draft process include Michigan State’s Aaron Henry, Ohio State’s E.J. Liddell, Minnesota’s Marcus Carr, and Illinois’s Kofi Cockburn and Ayo Dosunmu.

Out of the 5 Wolverines entering the draft process, the only player who is consistently mocked to be drafted in the first round is Wagner. Just yesterday, the wing was slotted to go to the Sacramento Kings at the No. 9 overall pick by The Ringer’s Kevin O’Connor.

The 2021 NBA draft order will be announced following the draft lottery on Tuesday, June 22, with the 2021 NBA draft taking place the following month on Thursday, July 29.
