This will be the third time that these two programs met on the court with the last coming during the 1934-35 season. Prior to that, Michigan and Buffalo had not played each other since 1916-17 when the Wolverines were still an intramural program.
Buffalo went 16-9 last season and lost in the MAC Tournament Championship, which was their fifth appearance in the last six years. They went to the NIT and lost to Colorado State.
Michigan’s non-conference schedule currently looks like this:

Nov. 13 — Prairie View A&M (Washington, D.C.)
Nov. 16 — Seton Hall (Gavitt Games)
Nov. 19-21 — MGM Resorts Main Event in Las Vegas (Nov. 19 vs. UNLV, Nov. 21 vs. Arizona or Wichita State)
Nov. 24 — Tarleton State
Dec. 1 — at North Carolina (ACC-Big Ten Challenge)
Dec. 4 — Kentucky
Dec. 18 — Southern Utah
Pending dates: at UCF, at Oregon
