As Michigan's new head football coach Jim Harbaugh begins to put his coaching staff together, rumors of the names he is looking at are starting to come out, and one in particular is a familiar one to fans of the Wolverines.
Greg Mattison, UM's defensive coordinator under Brady Hoke, will be retained on Harbaugh's coaching staff, according to Steve Lorenz of Wolverine247, citing three unnamed recruits that have been contacted in the last 24 hours.
It is unclear what role Mattison could play on the staff, especially with reports linking Florida interim head coach DJ Durkin to the defensive coordinator position.
None of the three recruits contacted were able to specify where Mattison will coach, just that he told them that he plans to recruit them going forward and that Michigan will be strong with Jim Harbaugh at the helm.
Mattison not only coached a Michigan defense last season that ranked in the top 25 in all of college football, but he is also known as one of the nation's best recruiters.
