Kickoff for Michigan-Maryland Moved Up to Noon Saturday with Hurricane Joaquin Looming

Rick Osentoski-USA TODAY Sports

Michigan's game against Maryland in College Park on Saturday, originally scheduled for an 8 p.m. ET kickoff, has been moved up earlier in the day to noon, U-M athletics officially announced in a release.

The change comes due to the threat of Hurricane Joaquin hitting the D.C. area.

Here's the statement from interim athletic director Jim Hackett:

"The weather experts are still dealing with uncertain probabilities for the course of Hurricane Joaquin," said Jim Hackett, interim Donald R. Shepherd Director of Athletics. "Thus we remain vigilant on developments and will err on the side of safety for all participants and fans."

The game can still be found on Big Ten Network.
