ESPN's College GameDay is heading to Ann Arbor on Saturday for the first time since 2013 for Under the Lights II vs. Notre Dame, which means someone from the maize and blue family (likely) will be representing the Wolverines during the picks segment at the end of the show.
So, who could it be? Here are our five candidates:
1. Charles Woodson
This would be the perfect one. The former star defensive back for the Wolverines and Heisman Trophy winner would bring the house down on Saturday, and the schedules even work out with the Oakland Raiders on a bye this week. It may still be a bit unlikely, but he is far and away the favorite choice of many Michigan fans.
2. John Beilein
Michigan's head basketball coach is a rock star around these parts and even did a little bit of play-by-play on the radio broadcast a few weeks ago. He would be a fine choice on a weekend where the entire nation will be watching Ann Arbor, which certainly has ramifications in recruiting.
3. James Earl Jones
Jones has been a big part of Michigan football this season, narrating the hype video as the team runs out onto the field. His is one of the most revered actors in Hollywood and it would be amazing to see him share the stage with guys like Lee Corso and Kirk Herbstreit.
4. Derek Jeter
Jeter is a known Michigan man and was in Ann Arbor for the game against BYU. The recently announced partnership with The Players' Tribune means his outlet will have a presence in Ann Arbor anyways on Saturday, so it is certainly possible he could be in town.
5. Eminem
We all know what happened the last time Eminem was in Ann Arbor. Pretend not to be intrigued by the possibility of a sequel.
Honorable Mentions:
Kate Upton
Spike Albrecht could finally have his chance to sway her from the loving arms of Detroit Tigers' ace Justin Verlander.
The Undertaker
The WWE legend's bell tolls at the Big House prior to the team running out onto the field on Saturdays. Closeted wrestling nerds would rejoice.
Michael Jordan
Reports this summer indicated the NBA icon would be attending a game at Michigan this season with the program switching over to Nike and the Jumpman brand. Maybe on Saturday?
Red Berenson
This is the legendary Michigan hockey coach's final season behind the bench. It would be cool to see him get some love on national TV.
Dishonorable Mentions:
Kid Rock
He finds a way into anything that puts a spotlight on the state and/or Detroit area. This can never be discounted.
