The Michigan Wolverines are No. 15 in this week's College Football Playoff rankings.
Michigan's (9-3, 6-2 B1G) CFP hopes were slashed at the hands of Ohio State Buckeyes over the weekend, but there are still more than a few interesting takeaways from this week's rankings heading into championship weekend.
The top four stayed the same for the second week in a row with Clemson, Alabama, Oklahoma and Iowa. Saturday's Big Ten title game is essentially a playoff game with the winner being a lock for the group of four.
The Big Ten having two teams in the playoff looks like a real possibility if Clemson or Alabama slip up in their conference title games. North Carolina would have a shot to get in, but we will see what the committee would end up deciding.
With last week's game action, we basically have narrowed down CFP contenders to the top-six teams plus UNC, most likely. Stanford probably is not getting in as a two-loss team in any scenario.
