The first year of the Jim Harbaugh era was a success for the Michigan Wolverines, as they finished the regular season with a 9-3 record and a chance to tack on one more victory in the Citrus Bowl.
Nine wins is a good year for a program trying to rebuild and reload following eight years in the dark, but bigger success seems to be on the horizon.
The question is not "if" Michigan will rebound under Harbaugh, but "when" it will happen. If success on the recruiting trail is to be believed, it could be quick, but there are also other obstacles in the way closer to home than on the national platform.
The Wolverines find themselves in a loaded Big Ten East division with rivals Ohio State and Michigan State, participants in the first two College Football Playoffs, standing in the way. Neither show signs of slowing down any time soon.
So how long will it take for the Wolverines to join their rivals in the National Championship hunt? Vote in our poll and sound off in the comments below!
