Michigan Will Play Florida in the Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl

It will be the first meeting of the two schools since 2008's Capital One Bowl.

Michigan Football's (9-3, 6-2) bowl destination has officially been announced.

The Wolverines will travel to Orlando to take on the Florida Gators (10-3, 7-2) in the Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl on Jan. 1, 2016.

This will be the first time these two teams have met since the Capital One Bowl in 2008, where the Wolverines downed the Urban Meyer and Tim Tebow-led Gators 41-35 in Lloyd Carr's last game as head coach.

There is no shortage of storylines in this one with two first-year head coaches facing off in Jim Harbaugh and Jim McElwain. Both lead their teams to better than expected debut seasons and now play each other on New Year's Day.

Former Michigan offensive coordinator Doug Nussmeier now works for the Gators in the same role, as well.

This game features two of the top five defenses in college football, so expect this one to be a slugfest and points will be sparse.

We'll have more on this matchup throughout the next few weeks. What do you think of Michigan's bowl matchup? Sound off in the comments below!
