Update: Michigan it is. Mitchell has committed to the Wolverines.
Class of 2016 wide receiver Ahmir Mitchell (Egg Harbor City, New Jersey) will be making his college decision this afternoon between the Michigan Wolverines and Ohio State Buckeyes.
That's right: Jim Harbaugh vs. Urban Meyer.
Mitchell is a four-star prospect and the sixth-ranked athlete in the class, according to the 247 Composite rankings. The 6-3, 205 pound wide receiver is a dynamic playmaker and will add some offensive punch to the program he chooses.
Usually when we go into these decisions, there are a number of storylines to break down and discuss, but the Wolverines are the heavy favorite here. Ohio State is in the mix without even extending Mitchell a committable offer. He is absolutely a take for Michigan and there is not a whole lot of suspense heading into this one.
A commitment from Mitchell will give the Wolverines their second wide receiver in the 2016 class, along with fellow New Jersey native Brad Hawkins, a four-star prospect.
We will have more on Mitchell's announcement later on today. He is scheduled to pick a school at 5 p.m. ET.
