It’s that time of year where they hand out the big, shiny awards for Big Ten players and there was no shortage of Michigan Wolverines on the list.
Defensive back/linebacker Jabrill Peppers headlined the evening, winning the conference’s defensive player of the year award and also took home the trophy for the Big Ten’s best linebacker.
Peppers had with 72 tackles (16 for a loss), 4 sacks, 1 interception, 8 quarterback hurries and one forced fumble along with returning 21 punts for 310 yards and a touchdown and 10 kick returns for 260 yards.
Cornerback Jourdan Lewis also received an individual honor, winning the award for the Big Ten’s best defensive back.
Jim Harbaugh tweeted out a congratulations to his players for winning the awards and also pointed out that all 11 starters on defense received conference recognition.
