Michigan’s staff has largely gone untouched during this season’s coaching attrition across the nation, but they are going to be losing one of their analysts.
According to FootballScoop.com, offensive analyst Jimmie Dougherty is leaving the program to take a spot on Willie Taggart’s staff at Oregon.
Dougherty has an extensive history with Harbaugh, as he was the quarterback coach at San Diego in 2006. Taggart and Harbaugh are of course very close, so the ties are there.
Dougherty’s role with the program was assisting in game plans and other analytical duties. As an analyst, you are not considered a member of the coaching staff and cannot be on the field or recruit for the program.
He will have a chance to do so at Oregon, so it is a good step up. Dougherty spent one season with the Wolverines this past year.
