Michigan got more good news on the recruiting trail on Monday when class of 2017 offensive lineman Cesar Ruiz (Bradenton, Florida) announced his commitment to the Wolverines.

Ruiz is a four-star prospect and the nation’s top-ranked center prospect, according to the 247 Composite. Michigan has been viewed as the heavy favorite for awhile and they were able to hold on and close the deal, fending off the likes of Auburn and others.
This pledge gives Michigan one of their interior linemen of the future. Mason Cole will likely be back for his senior season, but they have a need at center behind him.
Ruiz’s commitment gives the Wolverines their third in the last week or so, joining wide receivers Donovan Peoples-Jones and Tarik Black. He is the 23rd member of the 2017 class.
