Michigan Football played its spring game on Friday evening in Ann Arbor under the lights of the Big House, where the Maize team used a goal line stand to hold off the Blue for a 14-13 victory.
The Blue team scored to bring the game to 14-13 with not much time left on the clock. The elected to go for two and the win and were stuffed by the Maize as the game ended.
Wilton Speight started for the Maize at quarterback, going five-for-six for 46 yards and a touchdown through the air. He also added 19 yards rushing and a score with his legs. Brandon Peters was the other quarterback for the Maize with 36 yards passing.
Ty Isaac led the Maize in rushing with 78 yards, his longest from 30 yards out. Grant Perry had three catches for 30 yards.
The Blue team was led by John O'Korn at quarterback, where he went six-for-14 with 93 yards and a rushing touchdown. Shane Morris went four-for-nine with 31 yards with a touchdown and an interception.
Jedd Fisch, Greg Mattison, Chris Partridge, Tyrone Wheatley and Mike Zordich were the coaches for the Blue team, while Don Brown, Tim Drevno, Jay Harbaugh and Brian Smith coached the Maize.
It was not a full-blown game recreation. They played four eight-minute quarterbacks and did not return kickoffs or punts.
