Report: Drake Johnson Injured by Forklift at Track Practice

Johnson's bad luck with injuries continues, this time in freak fashion.

Rick Osentoski-USA TODAY Sports

Michigan fifth-year senior running back Drake Johnson was involved in an accident at the indoor track facility in Ann Arbor on Wednesday that hospitalized him, according to a statement released by U-M on Thursday morning.

The statement reads:

"On Wednesday, an accident occurred at the indoor track and field building involving student-athlete Drake Johnson. He was evaluated by a U-M athletic department team physician and was referred to the U-M Health system for further evaluation."

No details other than the statement have been released, though message board rumors say that Johnson was run over by a forklift while stretching for track practice on Wednesday.

Johnson has faced injuries multiple times during his career at Michigan, tearing his ACL in 2013's season opener against Central Michigan and again in the season finale in 2014 at Ohio State.

We'll update this story with more information as it becomes available.
