Jim Harbaugh on Drake Johnson Injury: 'Miracle' It's Not More Serious

Michigan running back Drake Johnson was injured on Wednesday afternoon after a forklift allegedly ran over his midsection at track practice, as it was reported on Thursday morning.

Head coach Jim Harbaugh spoke to the media this afternoon on the Big Ten teleconference to shed some light on the report and update his status. Johnson is expected to be out of action for two-to-three weeks and Harbaugh said it was a "miracle right up there with Easter" and that he was fortunate the injury was not more serious.

“Thank God he is all right,” he said. “Would’ve killed a lesser man.”

The second part of that quote is a reference to Bo Schembechler, who coined the phrase in his Michigan coaching days after being run over by a player in full pads during practice.

Johnson was hospitalized, but it appears that he will be okay. The fifth-year senior has had the injury bug in his time in Ann Arbor with ACL tears in 2013 and 2014, but has been able to return to the field each time and produce. It looks like that will be the case again here.
