Add another Michigan assistant coach to the head coaching vacancy watch list in Kalamazoo.
According to Lynn Henning of The Detroit News, offensive coordinator Tim Drevno is interested in the Western Michigan job that opened up when PJ Fleck bolted for Minnesota.
Henning’s report states that while Drevno did sign an extension with Michigan last week, his contract does not bar him from exploring head coaching opportunities.
It remains unclear if WMU has contacted Drevno about the position, but the interest does appear there.
Drevno joins Michigan running backs coach Tyrone Wheatley as a fellow staffer that is interested in the position.
