Former Michigan quarterback Shane Morris has announced his transfer destination and will be attending Central Michigan University in 2017, he tweeted out on Saturday afternoon.

Morris is a former four-star prospect and was the third-ranked pro-style quarterback in the class of 2013, per 247Sports’ composite rankings. He made two starts in his career at Michigan but fell down the depth chart in recent seasons as Jim Harbaugh built the position back up.
Morris took a redshirt in 2015 with the Wolverines and elected to come back for a fourth season, where he was behind Wilton Speight and John O’Korn in the quarterback pecking order.
Once a highly-regarded recruit, Morris never was able to fully put it together at Michigan. He will have one season of eligibility remaining at CMU and he will be able play right away as a grad transfer.
He is expected to compete for the Chippewas’ starting job as they replace Cooper Rush, who is graduating.
