First Quarter
After a rumble recovery on a punt, the Michigan offense gets into field goal range and Quinn Nordin hits a 35 yarder to put the Wolverines on the board late in the first. Michigan leads 3-0
Michigan gets it into the red-zone but isn’t able to punch it in for six, settling for a Quinn Nordin 26 yard field goal. Michigan leads 6-0
Second Quarter
South Carolina’s offense hits a long pass that puts them in field goal range, and kicker Parker White hits a 44 yard attempt. Michigan leads 6-3
The game has had the feel of a pitchers duel in baseball to this point, with both teams going into the half with less than 100 yards of total offense. Luckily for Michigan, Quinn Nordin has been in top form thus far, notching a 45 yard field goal. Michigan leads 9-3
Third Quarter
Michigan finally finds its groove after halftime as Brandon Peters threw three excellent passes that put Michigan within striking distance. After a great Karan Higdon toss run, Ben Mason scores a 1 yard touchdown. Michigan leads 16-3
Guess what? Quinn Nordin made another field goal, this time a 48 yarder. Michigan leads 19-3
South Carolina’s offense has been real bad to this point, but they move downfield and are aided by an unnecessary roughness penalty. Rico Dowdle scores a 11 yard touchdown reception for the Gamecocks, but don’t convert a two point conversion. Michigan leads 19-9
Oh how things change in a hurry. Sean McKeon fumbles for the Wolverines and gives the ball right back to South Carolina, and they capitalize immediately off the miscue. On the first play. Rico Dowdle rushes for a 17 yard touchdown. Michigan leads 19-16
Fourth Quarter
And now things have become shocking. It wasn’t too long ago where the South Carolina offense couldn’t do anything productive, yet now they have three unanswered touchdowns in the books. Jake Bentley completes a 53 yard pass to Shi Smith to take the lead with 11:33 to go in the fourth quarter. They would also tack on a field goal to go up by a touchdown. South Carolina leads 26-19
A missed field goal by the Gamecocks that would have sealed the game gave Michigan life at the end with a chance to tie it, but Peters was intercepted on 4th and 1 to officially end any chance of a comeback and send the Wolverines to 8-5 on the season.
FINAL SCORE: South Carolina 26, Michigan 19
