Report: Chris Partridge signs new deal with Michigan

One of Michigan’s top recruiters is here to stay.

Michigan linebackers and special teams coach Chris Partridge was offered a deal from Nick Saban and the University of Alabama recently, but ultimately declined the offer.

It is now being reported by ESPN’s Tom VanHaaren that Partridge signed a new deal with the University of Michigan on Saturday.

VanHaaren also said Partridge had other opportunities, but opted to stay at Michigan.

With Partridge helping lock up guys like Rashan Gary, Cesar Ruiz, Aubrey Solomon and other highly-ranked high school prospects, this is, in my opinion, the most important deal for Michigan football’s coaching staff this offseason.

It is not known what Partridge’s new role will be with the Wolverines, or if he even has a new role, but keeping him around is absolutely crucial for a recruiting standpoint.
