Michigan Wolverines’ punter Will Hart was nominated to the Ray Guy Award watch list Friday, which is given to the nation’s best punter.

The walk-on is earning a future scholarship with 51.7 yards per boot, including seven placed inside the 20-yard line. His average leads the conference and is exactly 14 yards more than last year.

He currently sits at fifth in the nation in average, with Texas A&M’s Braden Mann ranking first with 54.9 an attempt.

He owns the school record for punting average in a game over Nebraska with 59.3 yards a kick (min. three attempts).

The honor is named for Oakland Raider’s Hall of Fame punter, and is presented by the Augusta Sports Council. Semifinalists will be announced on Nov. 15, and the winner will be crowned at the Home Depot College Football Awards Show on Dec. 6.
