UPDATE (12:10 p.m.): Michigan has announced the gates at the Big House will open around 12:30 with kickoff scheduled for 1:15 p.m.
Michigan Football and Maryland were scheduled to kick off at 12 p.m. ET from Ann Arbor, but severe weather in the area is delaying the start of the contest.
“Due to lightning in the area, the start of today’s game has been suspended. Stadium gates remained closed and will open 1 hour prior to game time,” the message on the Michigan Stadium scoreboard read as of 11:10 a.m. on Saturday.

Michigan is telling fans to stay in their vehicles for the time being. Rain is in the forecast all day and well into the night, so this one will be played in damp conditions regardless. The hpe is that the lightning stays away from the area. With each lightning strike within eight miles of the stadium, the delay resets and the 30 minute clock begins.
