The game was close after the end of the first quarter, but by the end of it all the Michigan Wolverines dominated the Rutgers Scarlet Knights in New Jersey.

Game Recap

First Quarter

- On Michigan’s second drive of the game they find the end zone, via a 1-yard run by RB Karan Higdon. Michigan leads 7-0

- It doesn’t take Rutgers long to answer Michigan’s score, as Isaih Pacheco takes an 80-yard run to the house. Tied 7-7

Second Quarter

- A 12-play 65-yard drive that lasts nearly 6 minutes ends with another 1-yard Higdon TD. Michigan leads 14-7

- There’s a blown assignment in Rutgers secondary, and Shea Patterson takes advantage, finding a wide open Nico Collins for a 36-yard TD. Michigan leads 21-7

Third Quarter

- Patterson buys an absolute ton of time, jukes and jives in the pocket until he rolls out and fires a beautiful and accurate pass to Oliver Martin in the endzone for a 16-yard TD. Michigan leads 28-7

- Michigan is in the red-zone and Patterson decides to take a shot with one-on-one coverage to the left. Patterson throws a fade ball to the back corner and Nico Collins is able to snag it before the corner can get a hand on it. Michigan leads 35-7

Fourth Quarter

- Brandon Peters is now in for Michigan at QB, but Peters isn’t able to even throw one pass. The only drive, the only play featuring Peters at QB culminates with a 61-yard run by Chris Evans right up the middle of the field. Michigan leads 42-7
