The Michigan Wolverines did what they had to do to beat the Indiana Hoosiers and head into a matchup vs Ohio State with their playoff hopes still firmly in their grasp.

As always, another Michigan win means we have some game balls to pass out.

Game Balls

Offense- Quarterback Shea Patterson

It wasn’t Shea’s best day in a Michigan uniform, but he did enough to put the team in position to score on 8-of-11 drives.

On the day, Patterson was 16-of-28 for 250 yards, had 1 TD and 1 INT, with a couple lethal play action passes that fooled everyone in the stadium.

Some of Patterson’s biggest contributions came with his legs, though, rushing for 68 yards on 9 carries, some of which were key third down conversions.

One impressive stat on the day was how many receivers Patterson found for completions, 11 different targets hauled in passes.

At halftime, Michigan trailed 17-15 and they needed to get things churning more on offense, and in the second half more read-option plays were drawn up and Patterson started moving the chains running the ball.

Honorable Mention: RB Karan Higdon- 101 yards rushing, 1 TD

Defense- Linebacker Devin Bush and Defensive Lineman Rashan Gary

Bush and Gary were kicking butt and taking names in this one.

Bush tallied 11 tackles (8 solo) and 12 a sack.

Gary had 9 tackles (6 solo) and 1.5 sacks.

Special Teams- Kicker Jake Moody

Michigan’s kicker Quinn Nordin wasn’t feeling good enough to go against IU, and Moody found out he would be the starting kicker in the tunnel before the game.

If Moody was nervous, it didn’t matter nor seem like it, he looked cool, calm, and collected, en route to a performance where he made field goals from 32, 30, 31, 33, 23, and 29.

The six made field goals are a Michigan record, breaking Quinn Nordin’s record of five made field goals in a game.

Expect a kicking competition to take place this week between Moody and Nordin.
