Senior running back Karan Higdon announced via Instagram that he is sitting out the Peach Bowl.

He is taking the extra time to prepare for the 2019 NFL Draft, just like juniors Rashan Gary and Devin Bush.

He returned to Michigan after his junior season with the expressed goal of reaching 1,000 yards rushing.

He did just that in 2018, amassing 1,178 yards and 10 touchdowns on the ground. He made the semifinalist cut for the Doak Walker Award, given to the nation’s best running back.

Michigan now faces Florida next week in Atlanta without its starting middle linebacker, strong side end and running back. The Peach Bowl kicks off Dec. 29 at noon ET on ESPN.
