Michigan’s depth is dwindling a bit

The Michigan Wolverines defense lost two players on the same drive late in the second quarter against the Florida Gators in the Peach Bowl.

First, defensive lineman Michael Dwumfour injured himself after sacking Gators QB Feleipe Franks. Dwumfour eventually jogged off the field under his own power. It appeared Dwumfour was grabbing his forearm while he was down on the ground.

And then on the same drive linebacker Devin Gil suffered an injury to his lower body and was carted off the field shortly before halftime.

Gil was having a pretty good game, racking up six total tackles and one sack, while Dwumfour had two total tackles.

It doesn’t look like Gil will return, heading to the locker room via the cart is a bad sign, and Dwumfour’s return looks more probable but still questionable.

We will update the story when new information becomes available.
