Can you smell it? We are just over two months away from the start of the college football season, and that means it’s time for the Vegas books to start tickling fans’ itch. Westgate Las Vegas released their preseason College Football Playoff odds Tuesday, and Michigan opens up near the top — fourth to be exact, sitting at 3:1.
Alabama and Clemson, the “LeBron and Warriors” of the current college football landscape open No. 1 and No. 2 with that school down south sitting at No. 3.
Michigan landing at No. 4 may be a surprise to some, but there are likely a multitude of factors contributing. On the field, the Wolverines return nine out of 11 starters from one of the best defenses in the country, while Jim Harbaugh is expected to finally have his quarterback in Shea Patterson — the big free agency prize of the offseason.
While no one can predict with absolute certainty how things will go down this season, the hype seems to be building. Wolverine fans certainly hope where there’s smoke, there’s fire.
