Tough luck for one of the great former Wolverines.

ESPN NFL reporter Adam Schefter delivered some bad news to the Green Bay Packers and fans and alumni of the Michigan Wolverines football program on Wednesday.

Schefter is reporting former Michigan linebacker Jake Ryan tore his ACL in training camp.

This is really unfortunate for one of the real great guys in the sport. Ryan has always been one of my favorite Wolverines and probably always will be.

Going through the Brady Hoke years was not fun, but Ryan was there through every moment of it. From 2011-14, Ryan was one of the mainstays on that defense, and he always delivered.

Ryan racked up 267 total tackles, 45.5 tackles for loss, 9.5 sacks, seven forced fumbles, seven passes defended, two fumble recoveries and one interception in his four-year career at Michigan.

Not many names are remembered from the Hoke years, but Ryan’s is most certainly one of them that I’ll never forget.
