WATCH: Michigan defeats SMU 37-24 in NCAA 14 simulation

Michigan trailed 7-0 early, but took down the Mustangs.

It was a strange game early on (because of the video game engine not liking blowouts), but the Michigan Wolverines were able to take down the SMU Mustangs 37-24 in our NCAA 14 live stream this afternoon.

The offense was truly based around the greatness that was Shea Patterson to Donovan Peoples-Jones. DPJ had a Hail Mary touchdown grab with no time left on the clock just before halftime. That put U-M up by two scores, 24-10. He finished with eight catches for 148 yards and the one touchdown. Patterson was 25-of-29 for 345 yards, three touchdowns and one interception.

Sean McKeon also caught one of Patterson’s touchdowns, as did Karan Higdon. Higdon was mainly a non-factor, rushing 28 times for 63 yards.

The defense gave up more points than expected, but did its part. Devin Bush led the way with 12 tackles, two TFLs and a sack. Josh Metellus also pitched in two TFLs and seven total tackles. Rashan Gary pitched in with two sacks, and Josh Ross and Khaleke Hudson each had one sack. Lavert Hill had Michigan’s only takeaway of the game with an interception.

After being perfect in the first two simulations, Quinn Nordin FINALLY missed a field goal. He was 3-of-4 from his field goals and 4-of-4 on extra points. His long was a 50-yarder.
