“It was a great team win, I’m just so proud of the way we fought,” Michigan defensive end Chase Winovich said after their come from behind victory over Northwestern.
With Michigan trailing 17-0, he had a message for his teammates to fire them up, and it appears that message resonated with his peers.
“The way we clawed, I told a lot of the guys when we were down, I looked each person in the eye because I didn’t want the message to be dispelled and said ‘this is the part where we gotta double down on all the hard work we’ve done, the preparation that we’ve gone through, they can’t take this from us!’ Even when we were losing I said that, it was our game, there’s nothing they could do.”
Winovich recorded 9 tackles (8 solo) and 1 sack versus Northwestern.
