Michigan football’s senior defensive lineman Reuben Jones has decided to enter the transfer portal and will leave the team.
Jones appeared in fifteen games in his career at Michigan and tallied seven tackles, five of which came from games this season. He saw most of his playing time on special teams throughout his four seasons in Ann Arbor.
His biggest game of the season was in the victory over Nebraska where he recorded two tackles in the 56-10 blowout of the Cornhuskers.
Jones found himself buried in the depth chart behind veterans and newcomers alike and decided to try and find a place he can earn playing time next season.
Jones is a former 3-star recruit from Lakeland, Florida and attended Lake Gibson High School. He committed to the Ann Arbor back almost exactly four years ago to the day. He was the 18th ranked defensive end in Florida and the 145th in the nation in the 2015 class.
He will move on as a graduate transfer from the program come next season.
