Michigan football (4-1, 2-1 B1G) travels to Illinois on Saturday to take on the Fighting Illini and the odds have been set ahead of the Week 7 showdown. According to Vegas Insider, Michigan opens the contest as 19-point favorites over the 2-3 Illini with the over/under for total points scored set at 55.
Both the Wolverines and Illini are 2-3 against the spread this season, so something might have to give for the bettors out there in this game. For Michigan, it provides a chance to take on their former quarterback in Brandon Peters, though he suffered an upper body injury against Minnesota and his status is unknown for this week.
Michigan holds a 70-23-2 advantage over Illinois in the all-time series and last played them back in 2016, which was a 41-8 win at the Big House for the Wolverines. Michigan has won the last four games in the series, though this is only the second time that these two teams have played since the 2012 season.
Saturday’s game is set for a noon kickoff from Champaign and will be broadcast nationally via ABC.
