Wolverine Watch: NFL Week 12

Devin Bush continued his trend of making game-changing plays during his rookie season

There has been no learning curve and minimal adjustments for Steelers linebacker Devin Bush during his transition to the NFL. After an All-American junior season as Michigan, Bush is mounting his case for NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year. In the Steelers 16-10 win over the Bengals, Bush forced a fumble by Cincinnati wide receiver Tyler Boyd. Steelers safety Minkah Fitzpatrick recovered the ball as Bush recorded his seventh turnover in just his 11th career game.

Bush finished the game with four total tackles and the forced fumble. He earns his third helmet sticker of the season for his performance this year.

Despite improving to 10-1 with a win over the Cowboys, it was another pedestrian outing for Patriots QB Tom Brady Sunday in Foxboro. He finished the game 17 for 37 (45.9%) with one touchdown in New England’s 13-9 victory.

After filling in for Frank Ragnow at center last week, Graham Glasgow started at the position for the Detroit Lions in their 19-16 loss at Washington. Taylor Lewan and the Tennessee Titans returned from their bye week with a 42-20 win over the Jaguars. Lewan played an important role blocking for Derrick Henry as the former Heisman winner rushed for 159 yards and two touchdowns Sunday. Patrick Omameh saw extended action in the New Orleans Saints 34-31 win over the Panthers. He was also flagged for his first penalty of the year when called for holding.

On the defensive side of the ball, Brandon Graham had a productive day, his two total tackles included 1.5 sacks of Seahawks QB Russell Wilson, but the Eagles lost 17-9 at home. It was another quiet outing for Maurice Hurst as he had only one tackle for the second week in a row. Chase Winovich logged two total tackles in the Patriots victory over Dallas, and Chris Wormley also had two tackles as the Ravens dominated the Rams on Monday Night Football.

Jabrill Peppers and the New York Giants returned from their bye week taking on the Bears in Chicago. In the narrow 19-14 defeat, Peppers logged five total tackles and a pass breakup against the Bears. Jourdan Lewis made two tackles in the Dallas Cowboys loss at New England. David Long registered one tackle in the Los Angeles Rams home loss to Baltimore on Monday. Jarrod Wilson racked up five tackles in the Jacksonville Jaguars loss in Nashville to the Titans.
